ಕನ್ನಡಪ್ರಭಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ಲಾಂಛನಃನಿಮಗೇನನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ?
ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ‘ಕನ್ನಡಪ್ರಭ’ ಮೊದಲಿಂದಲೂ ಹೊಸ ಮನ್ವಂತರಗಳ ಹರಿಕಾರ. ಪ್ರಯೋಗಶೀಲತೆಯ ಗುರಿಕಾರ. ಓದುಗರ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ತನ್ನೊಡಲಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಕಾಲಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರ ಬೇಕು-ಬೇಡಗಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಗೆಣೆಕಾರ. ಅಂತಹ ಕನ್ನಡಪ್ರಭ ಈಗ ಹೊಸ ಸ್ವರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಬರಲಿದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನ್ನುಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ಲಾಂಛನ (ಲೋಗೊ) ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ಅನಾವರಣಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದೆ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಧನ್ಯತೆ ಆಡಗಿದೆ.

‘ಮೌಂಟ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಮಹಾ ವಿಷ್ಣು’ ಎಂದೇ ಖ್ಯಾತವಾದ ೧೩೫ ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಇತಿಹಾಸವುಳ್ಳ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ‘ದಿ ಹಿಂದು’ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಕುಟುಂಬ ರಾಜಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಹೊತ್ತಿ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದು ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ದುರ್ದೈವ. ಒಂದು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಈ ಪರಿಯ ರಾಜಕಾರಣ ಇಣುಕಲಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ, ‘ದಿ ಹಿಂದು’ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಹೊಲಸು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ತಾಂಡವವಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಇಟಲಿಯ ಪೆರುಗಿಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ಜಾತ್ರೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಹಲವಾರು ದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಖ್ಯಾತನಾಮ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲ ಈ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರ ದೀರ್ಘ ಭಾಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳೋದು ಬೋರು. ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಚುಟುಕಾಗಿ ಕೇಳಿದರೆ ಹೇಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ ? ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೆಲವು ಸಂದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದು. ಇವರ ಮಾತುಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೆ ಚೆಂದ ಎಂದು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನೀಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಃ

ಸುಮಾರು ಐದಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಪಿಕೊ ಅಯ್ಯರ್ ಬರೆದ Falling Off The Map ಎಂಬ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಓದಿದ್ದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ, ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಬರೆದ ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಿದ್ದೆ. ಅವೆಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರವಾಸೋದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದವುಗಳಗಿದ್ದವು. ಪಿಕೊ ಅಯ್ಯರ್ ಅಂದ್ರೆ travel and tourism ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬರೆಯುವ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಿರಬೇಕು ಅಂತಾನೇ ಭಾವಿಸಿದ್ದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಬರಹಗಳು ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಅವರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಊರಿನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಬರೆದರೂ, ಅದರಲ್ಲೊಂದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಒಳನೋಟವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವಷ್ಟು ಇತರ ಬರಹಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಈ [...]
